A standing daruma figure in uchidashi of silver and copper.
Silver face with shakudo patination with shakudo and gilt eyes, copper body, silver bottom, and
silver feet with shakudo patination.
Each of the face, body, bottom and feet in uchidashi (metalwork technique to create three-dimensional shape
from sheet metal by hammering) and jointed together.
Signed on the base in chiselled characters " Heian Gukyo Oite Ryuseikyo Yoshizane Tsukuru "
(made by Yoshizane at the Ryuseikyo studio in Kyoto).
Signed on the back " Yoshizane " with gold
wire inlay.
NAKAGAWA YOSHIZANE (1859-1915)
He was the second son of SHOAMI KATSUYOSHI and adopted by NAKAGAWA ISSHO.
With original signed box, second storage box and the original receipt of this piece.
According to the receipt, this piece was made in 1915 (the last work of Yoshizane).
